Our Impact

The Santa Foundation was originally established 35 years ago to fulfill one goal. That goal was to provide gifts for families in need at Christmas time. Most of our recipients work but just can’t buy any extras, like Christmas presents. They will receive presents from the Santa Foundation and maybe a little hope that things will be better in the upcoming year.

In 2004 we learned that several of our recipients were being evicted from their apartments or homes or finding themselves unable to pay their oil bill, heat bill etc. In our area we tried to find other agencies so that we could coordinate efforts to deal with this need. It was soon apparent to us that there were no other agencies, groups etc that were available to assist in helping these people. Thus The Santa Foundation took on this mission.

As mentioned, the major fundraiser for the Santa Foundation currently is our annual golf tournament. The gold tournament was started by our great friends, Scott and Mark Dittrich and their staff at 1776 Financial Services. The golf tournament has raised funds allowing the Santa Foundation to expand upon its original charitable endeavors. Our goal is to have this charitable event continue to grow and raise more funds each year. Another great fundraiser for the Santa Foundation is our annual November Raffle Calendar which is $20.00 and gives buyers 30 chances to win great prizes. Since it’s inception, the Santa Foundation Inc. has attracted dedicated volunteers and generous sponsors making it possible for us to help so many people. Sullivan Associates Inc. has been and will continue to be the main supporter of the Santa Foundation.  THIS ALLOWS 100% OF ALL CONTRIBUTIONS COLLECTED TO BE USED TO HELP NEEDY RECIPIENTS.

This past holiday season, The Santa Foundation Inc. experienced an extremely challenging year. We were able to assist over 800 families. We had many new sponsors adopt families however we did not have enough sponsors to adopt all of our families. We received calls from sponsors who contributed funds rather than taking a family. Some of our larger contributors are: Middlesex Bank, Greenwood Industries, ECO Systems, Norfolk Fire Dept., BLM & C Electrical, 1776 Financial, and NCL Charitable Fund. The Franklin and the Medway Police Department have also continuously supported and contributed to the Santa Foundation for the past few years. They are truly amazing in the support they gave us. With these resources and the help of a corps of shoppers we were able to take care of each family as we always have and always will.
